Matt Harakal

Matt Harakal founded Storytelling Partners after spending more than 15 years in communications roles with leading corporate, nonprofit and public sector organizations.

He is a versatile and accomplished communications professional with a proven track record of both strategic and tactical accomplishments. Prior to founding Storytelling Partners, Harakal helped lead communications at a multi-billion-dollar grocery retailer. He played a pivotal role within the organization’s communications function to drive earned media visibility, manage its crisis communications efforts and to enterprise storytelling opportunities to engage its employees, protect the brand’s reputation and build trust in the company. He also helped lead the retailer’s award-winning philanthropic efforts and support large-scale branding efforts for multiple marketing campaigns.

Harakal previously served in senior communications roles at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and for several Members of Congress in Washington, DC. Prior to that, he worked for a national not-for-profit organization.

Throughout his career, Harakal has consistently demonstrated a talent for developing and executing effective communication strategies, building strong media relationships and identifying compelling narratives that help teams and organizations achieve their strategic objectives.

A native of Pennsylvania, Harakal comes from a family of small business owners and is passionate about using storytelling to help organizations break through.

He graduated from Lafayette College in Easton, PA, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Law. He resides near Charlotte, NC, with his wife and two children.
